I have been working in the environmental and public health non-profit sector for 10 years. My passion is environmental issues and justice. I grew up living on the Connecticut coast of Long Island Sound watching my father fish in those waters. As I grew to understand environmental degradation from pollution, the health impacts, and the effects of climate change, I knew that my life's work would be protecting our environment.

Julia Scalera
Julia began working for Clean Water Action in May of 2019 as an Environmental Community Organizer. Since then, she has gone on to become a Trainer, a Field Manager, and, now, the Canvass Director of the Northampton, MA Office. Julia has a background in environmental studies and is passionate about water protection, primarily focusing on stream and watershed ecosystems. She has an Environmental Studies degree from Bucknell University, where she graduated in 2018.

Bethany Dickerson
Bethany joined Clean Water Action as the Office Manager of the Northampton Field Canvass office in spring 2021 and has been working as the Regional Finance & Development Program Manager since December 2021
Laura Spark
Laura has over 25 years of experience working as an urban planner, with a focus on housing, poverty, and sustainability.
She began volunteering with Clean Water Action in 2002, when the Massachusetts office needed a pregnant mom to go to the State House to talk about mercury in fish. In 2018, she joined the staff to coordinate advocacy on toxic chemicals and carbon pricing. She has a Master in Architecture and Master in City Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She lives in Jamaica Plain, where she also works as a nonprofit consultant and freelance writer.
Cindy Luppi
Cindy has worked with Clean Water Action since 1994, helping to coordinate a number of coalitions and community-based efforts to reduce pollution and promote an equitable, sustainable economy. She supervises and supports Clean Water's state campaigns in New England and across the country, working to build grassroots power and work together toward a healthier, more just tomorrow for all communities.
