New England Zero Waste Specialist
I have been working in the environmental and public health non-profit sector for 10 years. My passion is environmental issues and justice. I grew up living on the Connecticut coast of Long Island Sound watching my father fish in those waters. As I grew to understand environmental degradation from pollution, the health impacts, and the effects of climate change, I knew that my life's work would be protecting our environment.
I started my environmental journey canvassing in Connecticut to pass laws on a variety of issues. I love talking about the issues surrounding environmental policy and quickly felt that I excelled at connecting my passion to community residents. And I became successful in helping win real, tangible, transformative campaigns. My love of the ocean drew me to Rhode Island 8 years ago, where I have continued to work on policy and became a Canvass Director for Clean Water Action. I am eager to now bring my experience and passion to our New England Zero Waste Organizer position and continue to engage with people and businesses to reduce single-use disposable food ware and utensils.
