New England Regional Projects Manager
Amber Schmidt is the New England Regional Projects Manager, supporting and leading campaigns for Zero Waste, energy efficiency, and toxics reduction in Clean Water Action’s Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island offices.
In this role, Amber continues to lead Clean Water's ReThink Disposable New England work, focusing on reducing single-use disposable foodware, food waste diversion from landfills and incinerators, and zero-waste policy, while also expanding her portfolio into the intersection of consumer products and toxic chemicals and leading energy efficiency outreach in Attleboro and Taunton. Amber can be found meeting with schools and restaurants, hosting events, strategizing with coalition partners, advocating for statewide policy, and engaging in community spaces to support policies and programs that make New England healthier, cleaner, and more just.
Amber is an avid gardener and practices zero-waste at home making her own deodorant, lip balms, and preserving and canning food from her garden. She is a proud dog-mom to Gator and loves to take him hiking and swimming, and also recently added a new kitten to the family. She lives in Rhode Island and is a classic New Englander, loves seafood, the ocean, and of course, fighting for democracy. She has been organizing in the non-profit environmental movement for over 15 years and enjoys bringing her lifelong passion to end toxic, fossil fuel-driven plastic pollution to her job every day.
