Amber Schmidt
Amber Schmidt is the New England Zero Waste Organizer for Clean Water Action’s Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island offices. Her work in this role focuses on three main areas: reducing single-use disposable foodware, food waste diversion from landfills and incinerators, and zero-waste policy.
Mac Glackin
Originally from the East Coast, Mac finished an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and Politics at the University of San Francisco. Mac's academic career focused on a balance between the sciences and the humanities. Pairing studies of ecology, GIS mapping, and environmental data analysis with community garden outreach, Environmental Justice, and decolonial lenses on human rights and stewardship. A Bay Area resident, Mac applies these lessons to help in Clean Water Action's mission in Oakland, CA.
Julia Scalera
Julia began working for Clean Water Action in May of 2019 as an Environmental Community Organizer. Since then, she has gone on to become a Trainer, a Field Manager, and, now, the Canvass Director of the Northampton, MA Office.
Laura Spark
A longtime supporter of Clean Water Action, Laura joined the staff in 2018. As Environmental Health Program Director, she coordinates legislative and administrative campaigns to get toxic chemicals out of consumer products and the environment.
Jesus Alonso
Jesus was born in Bakersfield, CA and has lived in Lamont most of his life. He has been involved in various civic organizations. In 2012, he began his community organizing work in partnership with the Dolores Huerta Foundation. There he was trained in strategic skill development in community organizing. After his training, he was a lead community organizer in Kern County, addressing youth issues that included: teen pregnancy prevention and advocacy to reverse juvenile school suspensions.
