New report: “The Need to Enforce: Waste Ban Regulations in Massachusetts” | Press Release
“The bottom line is: this should not be hard,” said Elizabeth Saunders of Clean Water Action. “There are many environmental problems that are incredibly complicated to solve, but this is straightforward. We could drastically reduce waste in Massachusetts by doing the basics–enforcing the long established DEP waste bans.”

The days are getting longer, the birds are beginning to chirp, and the weather is warming up which means Earth Day is right around the corner.
This year, Clean Water Action is celebrating Earth Day by partnering with our friends at the Minneapolis Parks Board for a cleanup day at Bassett Creek Park.
What better way to celebrate our Earth than by joining together with neighbors and friends to clean up a park so dear to our hearts?
Join us on Saturday, May 12th from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Bassett Creek Park, located at the SW corner of Morgan Ave. N. and Chestnut Ave.

Report: The Need to Enforce Waste Bans in Massachusetts
Every year in Massachusetts more than 40% of the waste in landfills, incinerators, or as litter (more than 2 million tons) is composed of materials that were banned from disposal long ago by Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection regulations. This report covers the scope of the problem and provides recommendations to eliminate this substantial portion of the waste stream.
Mac Glackin
Originally from the East Coast, Mac finished an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and Politics at the University of San Francisco. Mac's academic career focused on a balance between the sciences and the humanities. Pairing studies of ecology, GIS mapping, and environmental data analysis with community garden outreach, Environmental Justice, and decolonial lenses on human rights and stewardship. A Bay Area resident, Mac applies these lessons to help in Clean Water Action's mission in Oakland, CA.
