Funding awarded through the Energize ConnecticutSM Community Partnership Initiative
Waterbury, Connecticut – Local nonprofit organizations were recently awarded a grant to continue successful outreach programs connecting residents to cost-saving energy efficiency programs. The Sponsors of Energize Connecticut, Eversource and Avangrid, Inc. subsidiaries Connecticut Natural Gas, Southern Connecticut Gas and United Illuminating awarded Connecticut Clean Water Fund and partners, NEST, Inc., and Riba Aspira with an $80,000 Community Partnership Initiative grant to continue their grassroots outreach through the Waterbury Home Energy Action campaign.
To make energy efficiency affordable and more accessible, the Community Partnership Initiative grants enable local community groups, nonprofit organizations, and municipalities to educate residents and businesses on the energy efficiency solutions available to them and help them connect to those programs.
“We are grateful to once again be a recipient of the Community Partnership Initiative grant and look forward to continuing direct outreach and community engagement in Waterbury. Energy efficiency upgrades are a win-win for residents and businesses. They can save people money on their energy bills, and they can reduce energy demand for the grid and help us reach our climate goals. We are excited to continue hosting local forums, working with municipal leaders and partners and meeting residents in their neighborhoods to raise awareness of the program and get residents signed up,” stated Christine Bartlett-Josie, Connecticut Director, Clean Water Fund.

The grant awarded to Clean Water Fund and their partners will support outreach to encourage participation across the city of Waterbury in the Home Energy SolutionsSM – Income Eligible program through the Home Energy Action campaign.
