Clean Water Action recently held its 33rd annual conference, Unity & Action NOW, at Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison, New Jersey. This annual interactive, educational event brought together New Jersey residents, community and organizational leaders, scientists, policymakers, business thinkers and students who are focused on protecting water and creating more resilient, sustainable and healthy communities. Since I started my new role as Clean Water Action's ReThink Disposable Coordinator, I’ve been talking with many business owners and people in the community about the very exciting topic of waste, in particular, single-use disposables like plastic straws, cutlery and bags and foam take out containers. I’m happy to find shared values when it comes to wanting to prevent trash from entering our waterways and filling up our ocean. Montgomery County Council Votes to Advance Solar in the Agricultural Reserve With Care
On Thursday January 26th the Council discussed and voted on amendments to ZTA 20-01 – a provision to allow siting up to three square miles (1800 acres) of industrial solar arrays in the county’s Ag Reserve.

We love our partners in our ReThink Disposable program. Those businesses have worked hard to eliminate their use of single-use food ware by switching to reusable food ware, and have also helped to educate their customers about why it is so important to move away from our disposable culture. And we’re crushed that many of these businesses, these friends have been deeply impacted by over the past 6 weeks. But there is something we can do -- work hard for them!
