We love our partners in our ReThink Disposable program. Those businesses have worked hard to eliminate their use of single-use food ware by switching to reusable food ware, and have also helped to educate their customers about why it is so important to move away from our disposable culture. And we’re crushed that many of these businesses, these friends have been deeply impacted by over the past 6 weeks.
But there is something we can do -- work hard for them! Most of our partners have had to lay off workers and scale down their operations to make ends meet. You can support Clean Water Action, ReThink Disposable, and our fight against single-use plastic pollution by patronizing ReThink Disposable participating businesses in your community. Below is a list of spots that are open for take-out, delivery, catering orders, or who can use your support through the purchase of merchandise or gift cards. By supporting these businesses, you are supporting our collective effort to end the single-use disposable lifestyle and create a sustainable future.
Clean Water Action has certified more than 250 businesses and 5 corporate and academic campuses as ReThink Disposable program participants. Participating businesses eliminate an average of 110,000 single-use food ware items per business per year, prevented an average of 1,300 pounds of waste per business per year, and each participating business saves between $3,000 to $6,000 annually.
Help us support these businesses now so they can continue to help us move away from single-use disposable products in our communities.
