Emily Howe was born and raised in Rhode Island, and lives in Warwick with her husband and 3 young kids.
Emily was most recently the Executive Director of the Rhode Island Democratic Party, where she helped ensure a Democratic sweep of statewide and federal offices in 2022. Her past political campaigns include Joe Fernandez for AG, Congressman David Cicilline, and Rhode Islanders for Marriage Equality. I have been working in the environmental and public health non-profit sector for 10 years. My passion is environmental issues and justice. I grew up living on the Connecticut coast of Long Island Sound watching my father fish in those waters. As I grew to understand environmental degradation from pollution, the health impacts, and the effects of climate change, I knew that my life's work would be protecting our environment.

Mare Carbone
Mare has been with Clean Water Action for 20 years. He has personally raised over $3 Million in member contributions since he started working for the organization. Under his direction, the Oakland Phone Canvass improved its gross by 100%, hitting its first million-dollar year in 2008 and raising between $1.2 and $1.3 Million annually since then. He is currently working as the Western Regional Canvass Supervisor since 2013, which involves supervising our field and phone programs in California, Colorado, Texas, Rhode Island, and Minnesota. Cindy has worked with Clean Water Action since 1994, helping to coordinate a number of coalitions and community-based efforts to reduce pollution and promote an equitable, sustainable economy. She supervises and supports Clean Water's state campaigns in New England and across the country, working to build grassroots power and work together toward a healthier, more just tomorrow for all communities.
