Our budgets reflect our values, and we're paying close attention to how the city's spending is prioritizing - or not - sewage infrastructure, especially protecting people from sewage backing up into their homes. Thank you for the opportunity to testify on this bill. Clean Water Action strongly opposes A5803, which would exempt plastic material processed at advanced plastic processing facilities from solid waste and recycling regulations, and urges the bill’s sponsor Assemblyman McKeon to pull this bill.

Hundreds Urge Allegheny County to Improve Proposed New Air Quality Rules
At a public hearing held by the Allegheny County Health Department last night, Mon Valley residents urged ACHD to enact new rules to stop hazardous air pollution episodes in Allegheny County. Over 300 residents from the Mon Valley and Pittsburgh have submitted public comments to ACHD supporting a strong rule to make plants in the Mon Valley, like U.S. Steel, cut their pollution when air quality rises to dangerous levels.
MAGLEV in Maryland: why we support the No Build option
For the past several months, the Federal Railway Administration and Maryland's Department of Transportation were accepting comments from the public on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Baltimore-DC MAGLEV project. During that time, 193 of our members submitted comments in favor of the No Build option. Although we're big supporters of public transit for the climate, air quality, and equity improvements it brings, the details of the MAGLEV project have too many costs for the climate, for actual public transit, for local ecology, and for nearby environmental justice
