Bipartisan cadre of legislators urge Governor, Legislature to take CLIMATE ACTION NOW!!
Trenton, NJ -- A bipartisan cadres of New Jersey legislative leaders joined the Empower NJ: No Fossil Fuel Projects Coalition today to urge the Legislature and Governor Murphy to take stronger action sooner to combat climate change and promote a green economy. They noted New Jersey is being hit hard by the climate crisis already, it’s getting worse, and proposed fossil-fuel infrastructure projects will deepen climate impacts. The legislators pushed a package of bills and called for the Governor’s new Energy Master Plan to aggressively confront this new reality.

New Brunswick, NJ - Clean Water Action joined with over 24 New Jersey environmental, labor, public works and business leaders for a roundtable discussion led by Congressman Frank Pallone about the Leading Infrastructure for Tomorrow’s America Act, or LIFT America Act. It calls for major investment in drinking water, renewable energy, climate resiliency, public health protections, brownfields redevelopment and broad band access. In 2017, Connecticut’s General Assembly made an outrageous and short-sighted decision to raid $145 million dollars of energy efficiency and clean energy funds and sweep them into the state’s general fund to help plug a fiscal crisis.
Celebrating Safe Water Leaders in California
On May 7th, Clean Water Action California hosted our first Environmental Champions award dinner. We had the pleasure of honoring former chair of the State Water Resources Control Board, Felicia Marcus, Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia, and Senator Bill Monning.
The evenings remarks cohered around the important work Clean Water Action is able to undertake in partnership with environmental champions in government. Andria Ventura, Clean Water Action’s Toxics Program Manager, and Jennifer Clary, our Water Program Manager, introduced the evening’s honorees.
