Thank your legislator for protecting Amara's Law
In 2023, Minnesota passed Amara's Law, the strongest PFAS prevention legislation in the country. And this year, in 2025, Minnesota lawmakers stood strong and rejected pressure from the chemical industry to carve out dangerous exemptions to this bipartisan legislation. Clean Water Action Minnesota Applauds California’s Passage of SB 682 to Phase Out PFAS in Consumer Products
Clean Water Action Minnesota, home of Amara’s Law, congratulates the State of California and our partner office, Clean Water Action California, on the successful passage of Senate Bill 682. This legislation phases out unnecessary uses of PFAS (“forever chemicals”) in numerous consumer products with full implementation by 2031.
Going Global
Last week a film crew from France was in Minnesota. Their goal was to gather information about Amara’s Law. They wanted to understand how Minnesota was able to pass such an impactful law while weaving in the personal stories of those of us who have worked to pass the law and have been impacted by PFAS in one way or another. Our state is setting an example for the world. France, Japan, England, Australia have all reached out to work with us and understand more about Amara’s Law. Now is not the time to slow down—we’re just getting started!
