EPA's Proposed Toxic Water Rule for Power Plants
EPA’s new proposal would require more stringent Clean Water Act wastewater treatment standards for coal-fired power plants, which are known as Effluent Limitation Guidelines. If finalized, these standards would eliminate at least 584 million pounds of toxic pollutants every year, while providing $1.4 billion in annual benefits to society.
