Here are the top bills that we'll be prioritizing at Clean Water Action and how you can take action - we can't do it without you!
New Year, New Rhode Island Legislative Session!
The 2023 Rhode Island legislative session has started! Clean Water Action and our allies had some big environmental wins in 2022, and we’ve spent the “off-season” preparing to hit the ground running. Here are our 2023 legislative priorities:
Waste Free Philly
Clean Water Action is a part of the Waste Free Philly Coalition which developed a five-point agenda to help Philadelphia transform into a city where neighborhoods are litter-free, trash and recycling are properly collected, dumping is a thing of the past, and a low-waste circular economy can thrive.
With a new mayor and city council being elected in 2023 in Philadelphia, the coalition is working to make these issues a priority for our next generation of leadership in Philadelphia.
The plan calls for the next mayor and city council to:
Appoint a new position of Deputy Streets CommissionerMassachusetts 2023-2024 Legislative Priorities: The Healthy Futures for All Package
The Massachusetts Legislature has the opportunity to protect residents, particularly children, from exposure to health-threatening toxics and pollution by passing the full Healthy Futures for All legislative package this session. This group of bills will ensure that no community is left behind as we make Massachusetts cleaner, healthier, and safer for everyone.
New Jersey Needs a Packaging Reduction Bill: Fact Sheet
An excessive amount of plastic is used in packaging food and drink containers while leaching toxics into what we eat and drink. We need to put a stop to this. Senate Bill S3398 and Assembly Bill A5009 assign responsibility to the producer to effectively reduce plastic waste used in packaging.
