My name is Emily Woodcock, and on Sunday, 4/11, I had my 10 year anniversary as the Field Canvass Director in Clean Water’s Ann Arbor, MI office. I’ve been with Clean Water since Sept. of 2004, and I’ve been field organizing since July of 2002.
Like most people, by early March of last year, I was starting to become pretty concerned about Covid-19. We were having conversations within our team about canceling volunteer nights and other events, and about changes we might need to make to the core of our work – the canvass. By March 13, we had made the decision to pull our canvass from the field.

Polluter Pay Should Be Taken Up and Passed Immediately

“Yesterday, Minority Floor Leader Yousef Rabhi along with 49 co-sponsors introduced HB 4314 to hold polluters accountable for the pollution they create and the harm that it causes. With over 24,000 contaminated sites across Michigan, this issue could not be more urgent. Those who are responsible for environmental contamination need to be held responsible for cleaning it up. Governor Whitmer’s Budget Proposal Will Improve Drinking Water, Protect Public Health

“Governor Whitmer’s budget plan rightly focuses on helping Michigan families and communities recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and it goes further than that by suggesting real, concrete steps that can be taken to create jobs by rebuilding our water infrastructure, expanding EV infrastructure, and positioning our state to become a leader in the rising green economy. We call on Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and Speaker Jason Wentworth to cast damaging and baseless conspiracy theories and
