The following statement can be attributed to Mary Brady-Enerson, Michigan Director, Clean Water Action:

“Yesterday, Minority Floor Leader Yousef Rabhi along with 49 co-sponsors introduced HB 4314 to hold polluters accountable for the pollution they create and the harm that it causes. With over 24,000 contaminated sites across Michigan, this issue could not be more urgent. Those who are responsible for environmental contamination need to be held responsible for cleaning it up. This is a basic issue of fairness – taxpayers should not be liable for cleaning up after wealthy corporations. We thank both Representative Rabhi and Senator Irwin for their leadership and call on the State Legislature to take up and pass this important accountability measure immediately.”
