Septic systems are a critical piece of infrastructure that treats the wastewater coming off individual properties, so it is less hazardous to human health and the environment. It is critical that they are functioning, but because they are buried in the yard it is easy for them to silently fail and go unnoticed. Proposed Solar Field on 240+ Acres of Forest
Georgetown University is currently proposing to cut down 249 acres of Southern Maryland’s largest forest to build a large-scale solar facility. Maryland General Assembly Increases Subsidies for Burning Trash
The Maryland General Assembly has passed the Clean Energy Jobs Act, requiring that Maryland reach 50% renewable energy by 2030. While we support urgent, transformative action to fight the climate crisis, the bill increases the amount of money available to subsidize burning trash for energy. Since 2011, trash incineration has received the same “clean energy” credits as truly renewable sources like wind and solar.
