We Need Congress to Pass a "Clean" Debt Limit
Clean Water Action has joined The American Federation of Teachers and 140 other organizations in calling on Congress to pass a clean bill that carries out the routine task of raising the debt limit to cover federal spending to which it has already committed. The consequences of not doing so put pressure on people and the economy, and threaten programs that matter to all of us.

The end of 2018 was record-breaking. After passing 351 bills over the course of the first 22 months of Michigan’s 99 th legislative session, lawmakers passed a whopping 408 bills in a frenzied four-week long lame duck session.
