Background: Michigan regulatory agencies filed a lawsuit today seeking compensation, civil fines, and the cleanup and restoration of damages caused by Boyce Hydro’s negligence in the failure of the Edenville and Sanford dams last month.

Last week Governor Snyder gave his annual State of the State address. Among all the glowing reviews he had about how far our state has come, were a few glaring omissions. To begin with, the people of Flint, after more than 1,000 days, still cannot drink water from their taps. The governor spent less than three minutes talking about Flint during the entire hour-long address. Although the state has provided some funding for solutions to the water crisis, they have not provided enough, and so far just over 700 pipes have been replaced in the city.
