Massachusetts House Releases "Ominous" Energy Bill, and It's Not Scary At All!
The Massachusetts Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy released a much-anticipated energy "omnibus" bill on May 23rd. The current language focuses on offshore wind and hydropower, with state senators vocally pushing for more comprehensive legislation that includes energy efficiency and storage. That was 5 months ago. Even before stepping foot in to the Clean Water Action office in downtown Boston I had already gotten involved in the fight to phase out flame retardants when I testified at a city council hearing as a concerned college student. Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund Massachusetts are seeking a full-time hybrid Development Manager to build and strengthen our fundraising program that supports our statewide initiatives. This role will be instrumental in cultivating donor relationships, securing foundation support, and ensuring the financial sustainability of our programs. In Massachusetts, Clean Water’s work focuses on climate justice, environmental health, and equitable access to clean energy, including protecting drinking water, reducing toxic pollution, holding corporations accountable, empowering youth leadership within the environmental justice movement, and advancing pro-environment policies and leadership at every level of government.
