Get Ready for the Bag Ban in New Jersey!
Get those reusable bags ready! On May 4th, plastic carryout bags will no longer be allowed in New Jersey and if you don’t already bring your own reusable bag to the store, now is the time to start! At that time, all stores will be prohibited from providing single-use plastic carryout bags. Smaller shops will still be able to offer paper carryout bags but all grocery stores larger than 2,500 square feet will be prohibited from providing paper carryout bags. Clean Water Action and the Reclaim Renewable Energy Coalition strongly support HB11, the Reclaim Renewable Energy Act, to ensure that Maryland’s public money for renewable energy is going toward truly renewable energy, not sources of energy that emit greenhouse gasses.

Policy on Investing In Fossil Fuels
Because of the impacts of fossil fuels on the earth’s climate and the damage they cause to our air and water, it is the policy of Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund to avoid investing any of their funds in companies that mine, produce, refine or burn fossil fuels. In 2013, Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund moved their investments to socially responsible funds which are either fossil-fuel free or include minimal investments in fossil fuels in their portfolio.
