President Biden has pledged to take quick action on toxic fluorinated ‘forever chemicals’ known as PFAS “by designating PFAS as a hazardous substance, setting enforceable limits for PFAS in the Safe Drinking Water Act, prioritizing substitutes through procurement, and accelerating toxicity studies and research on PFAS.” These are welcome—and necessary—steps that must be taken to address this toxic pollution, but there’s a lot more the Biden administration can do.

Policy on Investing In Fossil Fuels

Because of the impacts of fossil fuels on the earth’s climate and the damage they cause to our air and water, it is the policy of Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund to avoid investing any of their funds in companies that mine, produce, refine or burn fossil fuels. In 2013, Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund moved their investments to socially responsible funds which are either fossil-fuel free or include minimal investments in fossil fuels in their portfolio.
