A Year with Clean Water
As 2017 comes to an end, I want to take this time to thank you for supporting our work through donations and calls-to-action. The letters and emails your give us online or at the door give grassroots credibility when we talk to your representatives about the issues that matter to you - whether it’s forests in Frederick or antibiotics in Annapolis.
Here are some highlights of what you have helped us accomplish this year:
Passed the Keep Antibiotics Effective Act - Maryland became the second state to ban the use of antibiotics to prevent disease in healthy animals. Banned Mercury Switches andHow Big Oil is Using Big Bucks to Put Our Great Lakes at Risk

Clean Water Rule = Critical to Maryland
Having a healthy water source is critical to our economy. From agriculture, to wildlife, to craft brewing, and clean tech, clean water is the lifeblood to it all. Headwater and seasonal streams feed the drinking water sources of two out of every three Marylanders.

Clean Water - The Underpinning of Daily Life
Near my home, the Scantic River is a magnet for paddlers, hikers, foragers, picnickers - an oasis between the suburbs of Enfield and Somers, Connecticut. A new pub on its shores, Powder Hollow Brewery, now makes craft beer from our local waters.
