PAWTUCKET, RI — October 19, 2026— Raise a glass to democracy! Clean Water Action invites Rhode Islanders to celebrate civic engagement and stand up for our democratic values at Electoberfest on Monday, October 19, at The Guild in Pawtucket, featuring special guests U.S. Senator Jack Reed and Rhode Island Secretary of State Gregg Amore.

“Democracy doesn’t defend itself — people do,” said Emily Howe, State Director of Clean Water Action. “Electoberfest is about bringing Rhode Islanders together to toast civic participation, celebrate environmental victories, and recommit ourselves to protecting the democratic rights that make them possible. We can have a great time while standing up for our values.”

Senator Jack Reed and Secretary of State Gregg Amore will join the gathering to underscore the importance of civic engagement to safeguarding the democratic process.

"Defending democracy is a community effort,” said Secretary of State Gregg Amore. “From protecting access to the ballot box to ensuring government remains transparent and accountable, an engaged public is essential. I look forward to raising a glass to democracy with Clean Water Action.”

“I’m proud to fight alongside Clean Water Action to defend our democracy, boost civic engagement, and protect our drinking water from short-sighted federal attacks. As President Trump tries to weaken our democratic values and undercut our progress, this gathering is bringing together dedicated Rhode Islanders and uplifting our shared commitment to safeguarding our environment and our constitutional rights,” said Senator Jack Reed, who has delivered over $716 million since 2020 to help protect Rhode Island’s environment with clean water infrastructure upgrades, beach and waterway protections, and air pollution mitigation projects.
