Every election cycle, Clean Water Action endorses deserving candidates who will champion clean water, clean air, and climate justice. Presenting: our first round of endorsements, including some competitive state legislative primaries!

Carey McDonald has made climate action and environmental protection central to their campaign. They support expanding clean energy, restricting PFAS chemicals, replacing lead service lines to protect drinking water, investing in climate resilience, and lowering energy costs through renewable energy.

16th Essex District: Celina Reyes
With over 20 years of public service in the City of Lawrence, Celine Reyes has a deep understanding of the challenges we face in Lawrence, Methuen, and along the Merrimack River. She is committed to advancing environmental justice and ensuring communities have the resources they need to prepare for extreme heat, flooding, and other climate impacts.

Representative Margaret Scarsdale has been a proven leader on climate and conservation, championing legislation to protect open space, preserve pollinator habitat, conserve energy, and safeguard Massachusetts' natural resources for future generations.
16th Middlesex District: Lorena Betts
Lorena Betts is committed to building affordable, sustainable communities by expanding weatherization and community solar, cleaning up local waterways including the Merrimack River and Freeman Lake, and advancing clean energy solutions that lower pollution and utility costs for working families.
