Becky Smith
Becky has worked with Clean Water Action since 2001. Recent projects include assembling a multi-sector network in Massachusetts to support innovative and alternative approaches to integrated water and energy resource management to protect both water and human ecosystems. Her work at the local, state, and federal level includes giving presentations on sustainable options for next generations of infrastructure; support for initiatives such as the Clean Water Restoration Act; and pursuing Clean Water Act protections for waters here in Massachusetts. Erik McCleary
Erik began working on environmental organizing with Clean Water Action in 2019 as a canvasser in our Ann Arbor office, soon after becoming a Field Manager and MIchigan Deputy Field Director in 2020. Prior to his arrival in Michigan Erik studied at Hampton University in Virginia, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, and worked on several electoral campaigns in Virginia, Oakland, Florida, and MIssouri.
Laura Spark
A longtime supporter of Clean Water Action, Laura joined the staff in 2018. As Environmental Health Program Director, she coordinates legislative and administrative campaigns to get toxic chemicals out of consumer products and the environment.
Ian Louda
Ian is a passionate environmental advocate who joined Clean Water as a Field Canvasser in the summer of 2016. He went on to direct the Philadelphia Field Canvass for seven years from 2018-2024 and served as the organization’s Lead Network Canvass Director beginning in 2022. Ian now has a multifaceted role. As Canvass Supervisor, he leads national canvass recruitment and other canvass-related projects. As Legislative Coordinator, he conducts outreach to elected officials in Southeastern PA and assists with Clean Water Action endorsements in state and local races. He also works on membership
Jennifer Schlicht
Jennifer began her work with Clean Water Action as a canvasser in our Ann Arbor, Michigan office. After working as a field and office manager, she began working on our National Communications team in 2020 and moved to her current role of Michigan Communications Manager in 2025. Jennifer also volunteers in the local community for voting access and rights, as a Legal Observer, an English conversation tutor and welcoming volunteer for refugee families, and with environmental conservation and education projects as a Michigan Conservation Steward and Master Rain Gardener.
