Healthy Legacy: Minnesota Policy Victories

Since 2006, Healthy Legacy has worked to protect the health of Minnesota’s children from toxic chemicals in their shampoo, toys, and throughout their homes and schools. Due to the work of Healthy Legacy and the leadership of state lawmakers, Minnesota has enacted numerous laws that address toxic chemicals in consumer products.

Minnesota's Cumulative Impacts Law: Rulemaking

In the 2023 Minnesota legislative session, we saw the passage of an important environmental justice law; the cumulative impacts law. This law is currently entering into the rulemaking process, where the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will clarify details of how the law will work in effect. This will be an incredibly important process to engage with, as weak rules could effectively undermine any power this law could hold.

Waste Free Philly

Clean Water Action is a part of the Waste Free Philly Coalition which developed a five-point agenda to help Philadelphia transform into a city where neighborhoods are litter-free, trash and recycling are properly collected, dumping is a thing of the past, and a low-waste circular economy can thrive.

With a new mayor and city council being elected in 2023 in Philadelphia, the coalition is working to make these issues a priority for our next generation of leadership in Philadelphia.

The plan calls for the next mayor and city council to:
