Gain hands-on experience in the realms of politics, communications, and advocacy, while working alongside our dedicated professional outreach team. As an intern, you'll actively engage the public, igniting their passion for critical national and state campaigns to protect clean water, combat climate change, expose the impacts of oil and gas production, and discover safer alternatives to toxic chemicals.
Maher Akremi
Maher Akremi is a dedicated and flexible program manager with more than five years of experience managing programs, initiatives, and expanding networks. He is skilled in leading diverse teams, overseeing complex projects, cultivating stakeholder relationships, and implementing organizational strategies. In his prior role as program manager for the Organizations in Solidarity program he led a network of 300+ organizations and individuals across the US and world in collaboratively grappling with the legacy of racism and white supremacy in the peace and security field. Gabi Sanchez
Gabi split her time growing up between Maryland and Maine where she grew a love of the natural world. She spends most of her free time birdwatching and hiking through the woods photographing plants. She earned her B.S. in environmental science from the University of Maryland and is currently working toward her MPH in environmental health. Before joining Clean Water Action, Gabi taught biology and environmental science in Prince George’s County. She worked with students to design, plant, and maintain a gardening program at Kenmoor Middle School and coached the Envirothon team at Eleanor
Ahmad Almakky
Ahmad is originally from Pakistan and has worked on a variety of wildlife conservation, clean energy, and community development projects. As a specialist in community-based approaches, his work focuses on the multifaceted and complex impacts of environmental projects on marginalized and underrepresented groups. Ahmad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Lahore University of Management Sciences and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Duke University.
TAj Weathers
TAj is a proud lifelong resident of Baltimore County, Maryland. TAj grew up in the beautiful Baldwin area before graduating from the University of Baltimore County, Maryland & University of Baltimore. Before joining the Clean Water Action Maryland team, TAj fueled his passion for operations by working in the C-suite to build startups and restructure organizations. TAj is an avid promoter of youth advocacy, human rights & most importantly environmental sustainability. As Chesapeake Operations Manager, TAj continues his passion for operations and his dedication to important worldwide causes.
