Coalition Sues EPA Over Unregulated Water Pollution From Oil Refineries, Plastics Plants, and Other Industries
A coalition of environmental organizations has filed a federal lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for failing to set limits on billions of gallons of industrial wastewater, as required by the Clean Water Act.
Diversion out of Landfills and Incinerators
Maryland legislation passed in 2021 requiring large food waste generators to divert away from landfills and incinerators and towards a list of zero waste strategies including composting, donating serviceable food, and using for agricultural purposes.
Clean Water Action Welcomes Improved Distribution of Lead Service Line Funding
Today Clean Water Action welcomed an EPA announcement that federal funding for replacing lead service lines will be allocated based on new data about their presence in each state. Basing distribution of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s lead service line replacement funding on the actual need in each state is a common sense and welcome improvement that will help us put lead service lines behind us more equitably and efficiently.
