We are hoping that everyone is having a good fall. As the leaves start to turn, visit a local farm with the family to enjoy apple and pumpkin-related festivities! Spreading the word about crude oil trains - neighborhood by neighborhood
“Most of my district is within one mile of the tracks that crude oil has been transported on. I don’t want any more crude oil tank cars putting the neighborhoods in my district at risk.” That was what City Councilman Ed Reisinger, who represents District 10 in Baltimore City, had to say after seeing what a crude oil train explosion would look like, sitting in a rec center in his district less than a mile from the tracks. Our $400,000 Ocean Protection Council-funded project has officially launched on the island of Alameda in the San Francisco Bay Area. Clean Water Fund attended the 33 rd Annual Alameda Art and Wine Faire on July 29, 2017 to unveil a groundbreaking project called “ReThink Disposable: Unpackaging Alameda, ” to create a model “unpackaged” community by engaging 100 food businesses on the island to become ReThink Disposable certified. Baltimore City Council stands up for cleaner air from BRESCO
The BRESCO trash incinerator is the largest air polluter in Baltimore, wastes what could be a valuable resource for local businesses using zero waste practices, and connects with a system of steam pipes that put residents and visitors of Baltimore at risk.
