If you open up your social media feed you’ll probably notice a lot of news about incredible young people doing powerful things to influence policy, make the world a better place, or just being awesome. The youth are our future, which is why Clean Water Action decided to start a Youth Advisory Board (YAB). We’ve had a great time meeting with folks of different ages and backgrounds to work on and discuss many of the issues Clean Water works to address on a daily basis.

Protecting Groundwater to Protect Public Health
Clean water and public health are top priorities for us over at Clean Water Action which is why we are at the frontlines fighting for these issues in our State Capitol. We believe that access to clean, healthy and safe drinking water is the basis of health and wellbeing for everyone. For us, it all begins with water.
In order to put our drinking water first, we need our elected and appointed government officials to get on board by making smart decisions that protect our drinking water sources. However, this hasn’t been the case in our beautiful state.

Real talk, real action on climate change in Connecticut
I go to class and talk about climate change every day. Often, I make an offhand comment to a friend on campus about how we are all doomed and nothing really matters. They usually agree.
Visualize 2045
The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments is developing a new longterm transportation plan for the region: Visualize 2045. While focused on road and transit projects, this plan will also include bicycle and pedestrian projects as well as land use issues. While inclusion in the plan does not guarantee that something will happen, exclusion from the plan makes it more difficult.

Maryland needs to not only say no to crude oil infrastructure and other fossil fuels, but say yes to renewable energy that will bring clean power and good green jobs to our state. That's why we're working to make Maryland the first state in the country to buy in big on offshore wind. The two offshore wind farms proposed for Maryland would bring thousands of jobs to Baltimore and the Eastern Shore and provide enough clean power for over 500,000 homes - but this fall, we'll need to fight for the permits they need before Maryland sees these benefits.
