2025 Maryland Priorities at Crossover
On Monday, Maryland crossed a critical legislative deadline called “Crossover.” Except in extraordinary circumstances, a bill must have made substantial progress by this deadline to keep moving forward. Victory! Pittsburgh Enacts Single-Use Bag Ban
Victory! Just in time for Earth Day, Pittsburgh City Council unanimously passed a ban on wasteful single-use plastic bags. The ordinance is expected to reduce distribution of nearly 110 million plastic bags annually and decrease plastic litter. Clean Water Action is grateful to have played a part in making this happen. ReThink Disposable Case Study | Borough of Red Bank
In 2024, ten New Jersey municipalities passed Skip the Stuff Ordinances, which has restaurants only provide single-use cutlery and condiments upon request for take-out orders. Red Bank’s Green Team, with the help of Clean Water Action, created educational flyers in English and Spanish and provided outreach to businesses and residents.
