Broad Coalition of Climate & Environmental Organizations Condemn House Passage of Dangerous Cuts in Interior & Environment Appropriations Bill
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 4821, the House Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations bill. In response, over 60 advocacy groups warn that the House is leading Congress to a government shutdown by passing an appropriations bill that would eviscerate environmental protections, decimate historic climate progress in the Inflation Reduction Act, green light harmful poison pill anti-environmental riders, and much more.

My name is Erin Dracup and I’ve spent the summer as a field canvasser for Clean Water Action working on the campaigns to ban toxic PFAS in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
I grew up in Ithaca, NY and currently live in Boston where I attend Boston University and study Health Sciences with the intent of pursuing a Masters in Public Health. 2020 accomplishments set the stage for continued progress protecting our water and our health. Despite the past year’s very challenging circumstances — a hostile anti-environment administration and the coronavirus pandemic’s devastating health toll, social and economic disruptions — 2020 proved to be surprisingly productive, in each of Clean Water Action’s priority program areas.
