HARRISBURG – Today, leading state elected officials and members of the environmental community held an event in Harrisburg calling for immediate action by Governor Wolf and the Department of Environmental Protection to close a loophole for low-producing wells in the state’s draft methane rule before the final form is brought to the Environmental Quality Board later this summer. American Water Works Association and Clean Water Action/Clean Water Fund submitted a joint comment letter urging the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) not to extend the compliance deadlines for coal-fired power plants set in the 2024 “Supplemental Effluent Limitations Guidelines and Standards for the Steam Electric Power Generating Point Source Category.”
