Since 2011, trash incinerators have benefited from Maryland's Renewable Portfolio Standard, which subsidizes renewable energy sources and was designed to move us to a lower carbon energy mix. William Perry Pendley, an ardent advocate for the disposal and sell-off of public lands, is still acting director of the Bureau of Land Management. On Monday October 28th Clean Water Action will award Gary Steinberg the Annual David Zwick Memorial Award in recognition of Gary’s decades of work for social justice and environmental protection.
