Clean Water Action Minnesota Applauds California’s Passage of SB 682 to Phase Out PFAS in Consumer Products
Clean Water Action Minnesota, home of Amara’s Law, congratulates the State of California and our partner office, Clean Water Action California, on the successful passage of Senate Bill 682. This legislation phases out unnecessary uses of PFAS (“forever chemicals”) in numerous consumer products with full implementation by 2031.

Many Clean Water Action/Clean Water Fun colleagues gathered recently for a conference in Maryland to train up, reinvigorate, share strategies and stories, and look to the future of Clean Water Action. Community Participation in Groundwater Sustainability: The City of Weed

She advocates for including the City of Weed in the Shasta Valley Groundwater Sustainability Plan and working to protect the city’s groundwater from expanded pumping by private bottling companies. What Do We Need to Do About PFAS in California?
They’re in stain resistant carpets and clothing, cookware, some cosmetics, outdoor gear, and even dental floss. You may know them as Teflon®, or Scotchguard®. You have them in your body and they’ve been detected in 455 California drinking water sources thus far. I’m talking about a class of fluorinated chemicals, called PFAS, and they threaten California’s water and its people. Why haven’t we done more about them? PFAS are a family of approximately 4,700 human-made chemicals that are incredibly effective at combating oil fires as well as repelling grease, water, and stains. Original PFAS
