Put a Stop Sign in Front of a Runaway Warehouse Development

Today, the full NJ Senate is expected to vote on Bill S3688 put forward by State Senate President Stephen Sweeney (D-Salem) that would give neighboring communities and counties an opportunity to become involved in the siting process through updating municipal land use laws. The bill would require notification to communities that would be impacted by the proposed warehouse application, and give county planning boards the power to approve or deny contested applications.

Every Voice Counts

The ReThink Disposable team has been hard at work encouraging businesses to reduce their use of plastic straws. One of our greatest lessons learned these past few months is that every voice counts. This Spring, not only did we speak with business owners, we partnered up with local fifth grade students eager to spread the word to help save marine life.

Clean Water Action Rhode Island - The Place to Be

I’ve spent my entire life living in Rhode Island. I’ve grown up here, gone to school here, spent most of my time here, and ultimately been influenced by this place. Remaining in the state or leaving indefinitely both seem like equally plausible scenarios, considering my age and the line of thought that encourages young people to go out and find opportunities. However, this decision has been made more difficult for me because of experiences that have shifted my perspective on what it means to stay within the state.

I have come to believe that there is, in fact, much opportunity for me to grow
