Every year during the first weeks of July, thousands of people across North America participate in the Stop Oil Trains week of action to commemorate the 47 people who tragically lost their lives in Lac Megantic, Quebec when a runaway oil train derailed and exploded. This July 6 marks the third Anniversary of the disaster and reminds us all of the threat oil trains pose to our communities. Yet we don’t need to look that far back to be reminded.

Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund are seeking an experienced full-time Eastern Pennsylvania Director to lead our Philadelphia office team on health-related environmental issues in Philadelphia and southeast Pennsylvania. The primary responsibility of this position will be to lead local community-based campaigns, with a focus on environmental justice communities primarily low-income communities of color. We are looking for candidates with the ability to effectively manage a group of dedicated team members, collaborate with community partners on successful community environmental programs, and develop community engagement strategies to mobilize residents to take action.
