A switch back to single-use plastics does nothing to stop COVID-19, but it does undermine recent efforts to reduce our reliance on a material that pollutes our world in every stage of its life: manufacture, disposal, and eventual breakdown in our oceans.
Working for clean water during COVID-19
I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe in the midst of this Covid-19 emergency. While our offices are closed, our dedicated staff are safely working at home. We continue to remain active on important environmental legislation in Maryland and wanted to provide a quick update.

The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) issued a permit to Columbia Gas without providing the necessary information to the public, and did not comply with Clean Water Act or State Law when issuing the permit.
MDE issued the permit too quickly, without taking into consideration the health of communities, people, and the environment.
The permit issued would impact the waterways in Baltimore City and County that contribute to the drinking water of 1.8 million people.
