Marguerite Young is a lifelong activist who has worked for more than four decades as an organizer, policy advocate and coalition builder on behalf of environmental issues, especially water quality and public health. She worked for Clean Water Action for seventeen and a half years as a Regional Canvass Director, Canvass Supervisor and CA State Director. Julie Risser
Edina, MN
Julie served as a Clean Water Action Minnesota board member from 2005-2008 and was active in MERP (Metropolitan Emissions Reduction Project), which focused on reducing the number of coal-fired power plants in the Twin Cities. She left the board to serve on Edina’s Energy and Environment Commission from 2007-2014. There, she chaired the Air and Water Quality Working Groups, and she co-authored the “Energy and Environment” chapter for the 2008 Edina Comprehensive Plan.
