West Windsor, NJ: The grassroots environmental advocacy organization, Clean Water Action, has officially endorsed Tirza Wahrman for mayor of West Windsor.

“Tirza walks the walk when it comes to sustainability. She has served on our volunteer board for over a decade advocating for clean drinking water, clean air, and safe, sustainable communities where families can walk and bike,” said Amy Goldsmith, New Jersey State Director, Clean Water Action.

“I am running because West Windsor has a choice to make,” stated candidate Tirza Wahrman. “Will we barrel ahead with building nine huge new warehouses with little public input OR will we work with the developer and the community to evaluate more sustainable options? I want to preserve the character of West Windsor as a bikeable, walkable place as we grow, and I want the public to always have a chance for meaningful input in these decisions. As an advocate for sustainability and participatory democracy, I am so excited to receive Clean Water Action’s endorsement!”

Clean Water Action will be emailing its members in West Windsor to remind them to vote in the upcoming November election, as well as knocking on doors to get out the vote.

“Our members want elected leaders who will listen to the public, not just to developers,” said Janet Tauro, NJ Board Chair, Clean Water Action. “We are excited to support Tirza for mayor because she not only has a proven track record of working to protect the environment,  she also has plans for moving West Windsor forward sustainably.”
