Join clean energy advocates for a press event in response to Governor McKee’s FY 2027 budget proposal, which includes major rollbacks to Rhode Island’s clean energy commitments. The event, “Clean Energy Is Affordable Energy,” will feature a program of speakers addressing the proposals in the budget to delay the Renewable Energy Standard to 2050, cap funding for energy efficiency programs, cut clean energy investments through the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank, remove incentives for long-term contracting of new renewable energy resources, among others. Speakers will highlight how these changes threaten energy affordability, local jobs, public health, economic stability, and grid reliability—while undermining the foundation needed to build a secure, stable, and affordable clean energy future for Rhode Islanders.
