Want to do more?

Strong drinking water standards only happen when the public calls on regulators to establish and enforce them. Contact Andria Ventura at Clean Water Action at aventura@cleanwater.org to help fight for strong regulations on PFAS in tap water without unnecessary delays. We'll keep you abreast of on-line actions, sign-on letters, and opportunities to make calls or speak at virtual meetings during California’s regulatory process.

Contact Evelyn Wendel at WeTap at evelynwendel@gmail.com if you want to help ensure that your community has adequate access to drinking water sources and reduce the use of bottled water. You can assist in ensuring that everyone has access to water fountains, refill stations, and other key resources.

Webinar 2: PFAS "Forever Chemicals" in California

Want to do something about PFAS? Take Action Today!

Send a message to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced the agency will weaken standards on PFAS toxic forever chemicals in drinking water. That is the wrong decision. It’s urgent that the EPA take steps to limit PFAS in tap water, a critical step towards addressing this major public health issue.

PFAS are toxic chemicals linked to cancer and other health harms. As many as 105 million people in the U.S. get their drinking water from water systems contaminated by PFAS chemicals at hazardous levels.

We need as many activists as possible to tell the EPA you want the agency to resist industry pressure, reverse course, and support the strongest possible standards to protect millions of people from the dangers of toxic forever chemicals.

Send a message to the California State Water Resources Control Board.

PFAS "forever chemicals" have been detected in the drinking water of 25 million Californians. The first step in getting PFAS out of our water for California to establish statewide regulations for the two most prevalent types of PFAS chemicals found in drinking water (PFOA and PFOS). We expect this regulation to be finalized mid-2027, but we need to make sure that there are no delays in implementing that standard across California water systems.

Please take a moment to send a message to state regulators, telling them that they should reject drinking water systems' requests for extended compliance times.
