NJ Board Chair

Janet Tauro has served as the Board Chair of Clean Water Action for over a decade, and prior to that served as a board member. She is the founding member of GRAMMES (Grandmothers, Mothers, and More for Energy Safety), the lead grassroots organization that closed the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power plant in Ocean County. She was a trustee of the former St. Thomas Christian Academy, where she spearheaded a campaign to thwart the construction of a Home Depot on a site adjacent to the church, school and Forge Pond, which flows into the Metedeconk River, the drinking water source for over 150,000. She is a former reporter with The Record Newspaper, otherwise known as The Bergen Record.
