Interim State Director
Emily Howe was born and raised in Rhode Island, and lives in Warwick with her husband and 3 young kids.
Emily was most recently the Executive Director of the Rhode Island Democratic Party, where she helped ensure a Democratic sweep of statewide and federal offices in 2022. Her past political campaigns include Joe Fernandez for AG, Congressman David Cicilline, and Rhode Islanders for Marriage Equality. She is excited to return to Clean Water Action, having previously worked as a Clean Water field organizer from 2007-2009, and she is looking forward to picking up the baton to continue Clean Water’s campaigns, particularly on PFAS and the Rhode Island bottle bill.
Emily loves her daily iced coffee (even in the winter) and prides herself on always having snacks on hand which she will share with friends. In her spare time, you can find her volunteering with one of the many nonprofits she believes in, such as The Izzy Foundation or the Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence, taking walks in her neighborhood with her kids, or enjoying an ice cream down at the beach.
