Connecticut State Director

Christine Bartlett-Josie is a political consultant and community leader with over two decades of experience in electoral politics, campaign strategy, consulting, and fundraising. She has built her career around advancing progressive policies, understanding the power of people of color to influence the outcome of elections, and ensuring those voices shape the future. In Connecticut, she has spent years recruiting and mentoring candidates particularly women and women of color to run for office, working collaboratively with community and political stakeholders, unions, party leaders and constituents to build strong and inclusive support networks.

As founding partner of DNA Campaigns, Christine successfully managed the daily operations of multiple winning campaigns, building a legacy of strategic vision and grassroots empowerment. Her diverse background also includes serving in management in non-profits, Deputy Chief of Staff in City Government, and as a Foreign Service Officer at the Saint Lucia Permanent Mission to the United Nations and Consulate General of Saint Lucia in New York.

Born and raised on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, Christine’s earliest memories are of vibrant rivers and streams that sustained her community. Over time, she has witnessed many of those waterways dry up - a stark reminder of the global impact of climate change. These experiences fuel her passion for protecting clean water, safeguarding natural resources, and confronting the disproportionate effects of climate change on vulnerable communities. She is deeply interested in the intersections of climate change, pollution, and social and environmental justice, and brings that lens to her leadership in Connecticut.

As State Director of Clean Water Action Connecticut, Christine is committed to amplifying community voices, advancing bold policies to tackle pollution and climate change, and inspiring collective action to protect the state’s waterways. Her vision is rooted in both her Caribbean upbringing and her decades of advocacy in Connecticut: a future where every community has safe, clean, and sustainable water resources.

Christine holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice and African American History from CUNY, John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
