Environmental Justice Organizer

As the Environmental Justice Organizer for Clean Water Action in New Jersey, Cass works alongside residents, grassroots organizations, and coalition partners to advance policies that protect public health by ensuring every community has access to clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment. Her work focuses on building community power, advancing environmental justice, and advocating for equitable policies that put people before polluters.

In addition to her work at Clean Water Action, Cass manages farmers markets with Neighborhood Compost, where she connects communities with local organic food, composting, and sustainability initiatives by making eco-friendly actions accessible at the local level.

Cass's advocacy has also extended to the national stage. They were featured by More Perfect Union discussing how the rapid expansion of AI data centers and growing energy demand can drive up electricity costs for New Jersey residents, highlighting how the working class is covering the bill.

As a New Jersey Leadership Collective 2026 fellow, Cass strengthened their collaborative leadership skills and deepened their commitment to building community-centered solutions across New Jersey. She believes meaningful change begins with listening, organizing, and empowering those most impacted by environmental injustice. Outside of organizing, you'll find her chatting with neighbors over coffee, exploring nature with her partner and their two beloved fur babies, or snowboarding with some great friends. These moments keep them grounded and remind Cass why she is passionate about protecting New Jersey's communities for future generations.
