Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act. The bill now must pass the Senate. Clean Water Action issued the following statement.
“Today’s historic vote represents some of the most significant actions ever taken by Congress to address the climate crisis, protect drinking water and invest in families. The Build Back Better Act includes additional funding to replace lead pipes in our water systems. It will speed the transition to clean energy with the largest ever investment in climate programs, and begin to clean up our transportation system -- all while creating millions of good jobs. These investments, plus those in child care, health care and more, are good for families, for our health and for our future. The Senate must act now, pass the Build Back Better Act, and deliver on the priorities the public has demanded for years.”
