Mare Carbone
Mare has been with Clean Water Action for 20 years. He has personally raised over $3 Million in member contributions since he started working for the organization. Under his direction, the Oakland Phone Canvass improved its gross by 100%, hitting its first million-dollar year in 2008 and raising between $1.2 and $1.3 Million annually since then. He is currently working as the Western Regional Canvass Supervisor since 2013, which involves supervising our field and phone programs in California, Colorado, Texas, Rhode Island, and Minnesota. Jennifer Clary
Jennifer has represented Clean Water Fund’s California water program since 2003 and became California Director in 2020. She works to advance key water and climate justice and equity measures; and has served on key stakeholder committees that advise state agencies on actions to protect communities and increase funding to address long-standing environmental problems. Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley.
Jesska Hughes
Jesska began work with Clean Water Action California in February of 2009. During her time, she has worked as a canvasser, a manager, and as a trainer of the new generation. These positions have provided her the opportunity to speak to, and share victories with, thousands of Clean Water Action members and staff. In her current role as Lead Administrator, she is responsible for finances, database management, donor relations, and other behind the scenes nuts and bolts of the organization. Andria Ventura
Andria Ventura left a corporate career in publishing in 1995 to work for Clean Water Action's New Jersey chapter. There she served as an organizer working on a wide array of issues, including drinking water, pollution prevention, and source water protection. She supplemented this work by serving on her town's environmental commission. Andria joined the California Clean Water staff in May 2003, after a two-year hiatus in Hawaii volunteering with the Waikiki Zoo's elephant program and working at Hawaii’s Oceanic Institute.
