Sophie Kelly
Sophie has worked as the Office Manager in our Oakland California office since August 2021. Her organizing work began as a canvasser with the PIRGs in college in Seattle, Washington, where she is from originally. She has since worked on various advocacy and electoral campaigns including a Save the Bees campaign and the 2020 presidential election.
In addition to office managing, she is helping coordinate a local ballot initiative to make Oakland the first city in the country to have a participatory budget where Oaklanders can collectively decide how much money goes to parks, libraries and more

TAj is a proud lifelong resident of Baltimore County, Maryland. TAj grew up in the beautiful Baldwin area before graduating from the University of Baltimore County, Maryland & University of Baltimore. Before joining the Clean Water Action Maryland team, TAj fueled his passion for operations by working in the C-suite to build startups and restructure organizations. TAj is an avid promoter of youth advocacy, human rights & most importantly environmental sustainability. As Chesapeake Operations Manager, TAj continues his passion for operations and his dedication to important worldwide causes.
Julia Scalera
Julia began working for Clean Water Action in May of 2019 as an Environmental Community Organizer. Since then, she has gone on to become a Trainer, a Field Manager, and, now, the Canvass Director of the Northampton, MA Office. Julia has a background in environmental studies and is passionate about water protection, primarily focusing on stream and watershed ecosystems. She has an Environmental Studies degree from Bucknell University, where she graduated in 2018.
Julia grew up on Long Island, and has lived in Massachusetts for the past 3 years. Currently, she is a plant mom and a cat mom. In

Sean Jackson
Sean works in Clean Water’s DC office where he leads a multitude of advocacy efforts. Sean, along with the rest of the DC team, coordinates field offices with national legislative and regulatory campaign efforts
Sean graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2017 with a Master’s in Public Policy and a specialization in Environmental policy. He has worked for several environmental organizations on the national stage, and comes to Clean Water Action with an expertise in coalition management, communications, and national water infrastructure investment strategies.
