She also serves on the Board of the NJ Work Environment Council, EarthShare New Jersey, Chairs the Coalition for Healthy Ports, as well as an appointee to the NJDEP Clean Water Council. From 1994-2002, served in various roles as National Coordinator for the Public Health Institute's (PHI) Jobs and Environment Training Consortium, National Just Transition Alliance Curriculum Writing Team and Training Logistics Coordinator. Maurice Sampson
Maurice M. Sampson II has been a grass roots environmental activist dating back to the 70s. He fought to pass of local ordinances requiring Environmental Impact Statements for all housing developments ( Cherry Hill NJ , 1971) saving 200 acres from suburban development, to oppose highway bond issues (1973),Tocks Island Dam on the upper Delaware (1972-73), floating nuclear power plants (1975), and to support creation of the New Jersey Pinelands preservation 1974-77. Kathie Knorr
Kathie joined Clean Water Action in 1991 as the phone canvass office manager and administrator. Most likely she will be the first person you meet when you walk into the Pittsburgh office! Two of the things that keep her here are her love of working with people who share her passion for protecting the environment and the casual atmosphere. Her outside interests include gardening, watching the sunset, and attending her son Dylan's sporting events.
Kerem Gokmen
Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Kerem started at Clean Water Action in January 2001 as a phone canvasser & has spent his entire career with the organization at the Pittsburgh office, taking on Canvass Director duties in the Fall of 2012. Over the years Kerem has organized members in the state on a variety of issues & campaigns, ranging from protecting the exceptional value streams, the pesticide notification act, right to know reports & fracking in recent years. Aside from Clean Water Action, Kerem has been on the airwaves of public radio station WYEP Pittsburgh since 1997, producing &
